UI/UX Designer

Location:  Cambridge, UK (Currently working from home, hybrid model consisting of office cum home working on offer)

You will join a team that helps enhance and maintain 1Spatial’s Platform. You will be passionate about continuous improvement and confident collaborating with developers, testers, architects, and product managers. As a UI/UX designer, you will help us develop a great experience and functionality for our suite of products and targeted solutions. Whilst you will be a member of our development team, you will work closely with Product Management to develop a single end-to-end, company-wide user experience to cover both enterprise and mobile based products.

You will be responsible for:

  • Working with Product Managers and Development teams to translate complex requirements and transform them into simple design and ensuring intuitive, efficient, task-centred user interaction
  • Ensuring design advice that is consistent across multiple products and platforms, up to date and help define consistent 1Spatial’s UI/UX guidelines
  • Creating and maintaining digital assets, such as interface design files, wireframes, and interactive mock-ups using prototyping tools
  • Contributing to a cross functional teams of developers, testers, and product managers as part of an Agile process

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working with Product Managers to conduct user research and understand user requirements.
  • Experience working with Development teams to deliver user interfaces for web and mobile solutions.
  • Experience in UI/UX design and development for enterprise solutions.
  • Proficiency in designing interfaces and building low fidelity wireframes using tooling such as Balsamic, Invision, Adobe XD.
  • Proficiency in building interactable prototypes using industry standard tooling such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD.
  • A good understanding of software products and programming principles.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience using or keen interest in Geospatial or Map based visual systems.
  • Experience in development of React based applications (using TypeScript).
  • Experience of UI/UX design for mobile apps– Android Apps, iOS and Windows.
  • Experience in Defence/Government, Utilities or Transportation sector is a plus.
