Introduction

1Data Gateway is a self-service data validation tool that streamlines the validation and enhancement of data. It allows a controlled flow of data that is easily shared between internal and external users.

Example login screen with multiple providers for logging in.

In practise this means workflows involve a few guided steps that can be already configured by administrators to increase automation.

This allows for "fire-and-forget" processing of data, controlled step-by-step validation, or something between the two.

Workflow

A user starts by selecting an assignment to work on and creating a new submission.

My Assignments tab.

Note: Submissions will time out automatically after being unfinished for a set time period.

Some submissions will require data to be uploaded while others will have data pre-attached.

Upload Data stage with no data in it.

The data can also be left to process unguided until completion from this stage or overseen across the next stages.

The data should be automatically mapped based on class and attribute names or by a preconfigured mapping.

Configure Mapping stage where everything is already mapped

These can be overridden by a user and custom schema mappings can be saved for repeated use.

Once a submission has finished processing the validation can be checked over to see what has passed or failed.

Process Submission stage where the submission is in the middle of processing still.

If it's spatial data then the data can be checked over via the map viewer.

In the final stage the results can be looked over and the input data, output data, and reports can be downloaded.

Submission Results stage for a submission that is still open and has all attached media.

Note: Closing a submission after it is finished frees up storage space and releases computing resources.

Note: Go to Lifecycle of a Submission for a more detailed overview.
