Project Import

Projects can be imported into 1Data Gateway, recreating the Project with all Assignments, Specifications, and Suppliers using their Keys as a reference. The .zip files for importing can be created by Exporting Projects from the Project Settings page.

Note: A Supplier is only recreated if there are no existing Suppliers in 1Data Gateway with that Key.

ClosedUpload

To upload a Project, either drag and drop a file into the upload box or click to open the file system browser and select it from there.

The Upload tab with a preview of the .zip selected for import

Click Import to bring the Project and its contents into 1Data Gateway.

Warning: The Project, Specification, and Assignment Keys are used as the reference for Importing and Exporting. An import will merge any of these that uses the same Key, with the import configuration taking precedence. This is additive, so importing will only replace configurations with matching Keys but will otherwise add new configurations.

Example: A Specification with one Assignment uses the Key "DEP-SPEC-1", the imported Project also has a Specification with the Key "DEP-SPEC-1" but this has two Assignments.

The import assumes that having the same Key means they are the same thing and will replace the details of the Specification.

The Assignments all have different Keys, so after the import the Specification contains all three Assignments.

ClosedImport History

Import History shows the state of all current and previous imports.

The Import History tab

Imports that have been added to the upload but have not been imported show as pending and can be cancelled.

Clicking Cancel on a pending import removes it from the import history and deletes the data and log.

Clicking Data will download a copy of the file added to the upload.

Downloading the Log provides a text file with the steps that the importer has taken, listing exactly what Assignments, Specifications, and Suppliers have been imported into 1Data Gateway as part of the Project.
