Transferring Packs Between Devices

1Edit has the capability to transfer projects to and from a USB device, and therefore between 1Edit systems on different Windows devices.

Note: For security, it is recommended that you use an encrypted USB drive e.g. IronKey.

Transfer Project Out

  1. Insert the USB device into the USB port and allow Windows to mount the key as a drive.

  2.      Note: Ensure the USB device has sufficient space to hold the Project.

  3. In 1Edit, select a Project followed by the Transfer Pack out option.

  4. If the USB device is mounted as the default drive, then the project will now export as a .transfer_zip file.

  5.      Note: You will be prompted to select a drive if the USB device has not been mounted as the default drive. Additionally, you will be asked to overwrite an existing .transfer_zip of the same name (if the project has been transferred multiple times via the same USB device).

  6. 1Edit will notify you when the transfer is complete.

Transfer Project In

  1. Insert the USB device into the USB port and allow Windows to mount the key as a drive.

  2. In 1Edit Project window, select Transfer Pack In.

  3. You will be prompted to select a drive if the USB device has not been mounted as the default drive.

  4. You will then be able to select your chosen .transfer_zip file from that drive.

  5. If the project name already exists on the device, then you will be prompted to overwrite the project.

  6. 1Edit will notify you when the transfer is complete.

  7.      Note: If the transfer process is overwriting an existing project, a backup is made of the existing project which can be found at \Backup\<project_name> under the 1Edit data directory.
