Example: Finding Voids

In this example, we create a topology rule to find holes between existing polygons.

A hole is considered to be a face that does not contain any reference to polygons.

An alternate view of the polygons and hole, describing each as Faces (Face1, Face 2, Face 3, Face 4 and Universe face).

Face 3 has no polygon within it, so is considered a hole

When you define topology rules, you include the classes used to build topology, and the pre-defined topological primitives in the system data store.

The Use Schema setting should be selected in the Context tab to list the classes of external data stores and the pre-defined topological primitives in the 1Integrate data store.
