Rules

Rules validate features using sets of logical expressions. They are built in a hierarchical structure, from a combination of Rule Components.

Creating and Managing Rules

Rules are created and managed from the Rules workspace.

Note: The 1int-rules-read and 1int-rules-write permissions are required in order to use the Rules workspace.

Make sure to familiarise yourself with the Interface before starting.

Creating Rules

Create a Rule with the Add button or via the context menu in the Navigation pane. This creates a blank Rule as shown below.

The Rules workspace

Once created, Rules are built up using Rule Components.

The basic steps for creating and defining a Rule are given below. For in depth examples of rules, see Worked Examples.

ClosedBuilding a Rule

  1. Open the Rule you want to work on.

  2. (Optional) Select the root node of the Rule and define the Class Parameters if necessary.

  3. Click the grey Predicate.

Select the type of Predicates that you want to add to the Rule.

  4. Set up any Child nodes required by your selected Predicate.

  5. Click Save.

Moving, Copying and Deleting Rules

For more information on moving, copying and deleting, please see Items and Folders.

Rules can only be deleted if they aren't used in any other objects, including shortcuts.

You can check if a Rule is being used by another object by clicking the Add button.
