Rule, Action, and Action Map Tasks

In order to use your Rules, Actions, and Action Maps, you need to add them as Tasks within Sessions.

     Note: Non-Spatial Filtering can be applied to any of these tasks to restrict the data load.

     Best Practice: Check Rules and Apply Actions Tasks can use Record Replay Debugging, a feature that allows you to debug by stepping through each logical step of a Rule or Action that has been processed.

Check Rules Task

A Check Rules task is used to run Rules against Data Stores. It will use the Rules to analyse whether the data conforms to them, generating a report that can be viewed from the Task Results.

ClosedAdd a Check Rules Task to a Session

  1. Open a Session in the Sessions workspace.

  2. Click New and choose Check Rules.

  3. Click Rules and double click or select the Add icon for all the Rules that you want to add.

  4. Confirm the Rules with Select.

  5. (Optional) Click Filter Rule and follow steps 3 and 4 for this.

  6. (Optional) Click the Edit button and configure the Non Spatial Filter.

  7. (Optional) Toggle Record Replay on/off.

  8. Click Confirm.

  9. Save the Session.

Apply Actions Task

The Apply Actions task is used to apply Actions to your data, creating fixes, adding new objects, and more.

     Note: If you require your Actions to correct data that does not conform to specific Rules, create an Action Maps and add an Apply Action Map Task to your Session.

  1. Open a Session in the Sessions workspace.

  2. Click New and choose Apply Actions.

  3. Click Actions and double click or select the Add icon for the Actions that you want to add.

  4. Confirm the Actions with Select.

  6. (Optional) Click the Edit button and configure the Non Spatial Filter.

  7. (Optional) Toggle Record Replay on/off.

  8. Click Confirm.

  9. Save the Session.

Apply Action Map Task

An Apply Action Map task is used to run your Action Maps, allowing you to check Rules and apply Actions based on the conformance of objects in the checked Rules.

  1. Open a Session in the Sessions workspace.

  2. Click New and choose Apply Action Map.

  3. Click Action Map and double click or select the Action Map that you want and click Select.

  4. (Optional) Click Filter Rule and follow steps 3 and 4.

  5. (Optional) Click the Edit button and configure the Non Spatial Filter.

  6. (Optional) Select the Always Report Rule Results if you also want the Action Map task to report on the Rule Non-Conformances.

         Note: The results can be viewed and downloaded from the task report as normal, or viewed in the Map Viewer Reports tab.

  7. Click Confirm.

  8. Save the Session.
