This interactive session, hosted by Drew France from the City of Swan and Joy Miles from Public Transport Authority WA, Joy will walk through the PowerShell deployment script and process for FME Flow and highlight how to effectively integrate FME Flow with a DevOps Git repository.
A presentation from Edwin Castelblanco, Geographic Information System and Asset Data Officer at Rottnest Island Authority, exploring how FME Realize is helping make infrastructure data more accessible to support informed discision-making.
Discover how the Rottnest Island Authority Asset Management team is leveraging FME Realize to transform the way infrastructure information is accessed, understood, and utilised across the organisation. By visualising underground assets in Augmented Reality (AR), management, project managers, engineers, and designers can interact with GIS data directly in the field, enabling faster understanding, improved collaboration, and more informed decision-making.
By making complex infrastructure data intuitive and accessible to non-GIS users, FME Realize helps break down traditional data silos and encourages broader use of asset information across the organisation.
In this presentation, Edwin will demonstrate a proof of concept that uses FME Realize to visualise infrastructure assets in Augmented Reality. Attendees will gain valuable insights into how this innovative approach supports field-based decision-making, strengthens collaboration between teams, and maximises the value of GIS and asset management investments by putting critical infrastructure data directly into the hands of those who need it most.
Followed by a presentation from Mariusz Roslon a Geospatial Analyst in the PTA Asset And Engineering Management team in Network and Infrastructure.
Mariusz will run through his method for utilising FME workflows to transform BIM data into 2D and 3D GIS features for track model extraction.
Integration with Core Systems
Explore how local and state government agencies are connecting critical business systems, including cloud-based ERP platforms, through FME to streamline operations, improve data integration, and support more informed decision-making. While AI and machine learning may not yet be a priority for every organisation due to infrastructure considerations, many government departments are already leveraging these technologies to drive efficiency, automate processes, and deliver better outcomes for their communities.
Successes, Challenges & Opportunities
This roundtable offers a collaborative space to reflect on what's working, what's not, and where the greatest opportunities lie for local and state government in WA. We'll also host a dedicated discussion on how FME is being applied in non-spatial use cases, enabling councils to expand its benefits across more departments.
Hear directly from councils as they share their experiences, demonstrate how they've been leveraging FME to tackle real-world challenges, and discuss practical insights that other councils can apply to their own workflows. Participants will also gain first-hand insights into the lessons learned, challenges overcome, and outcomes achieved through the Rottnest Island Authority's FME Realize journey.
