Agenda

  • Implementing a National Utilities Digital Twin - The NUAR Project - Andrew Bashfield An excellent example of a national spatial underground assets data collaboration initiative with lessons for Australia is the UK-based National Underground Asset Register (NUAR). With just short of 700 asset owners across a range of data formats, NUAR demonstrates how data sharing can unlock benefit and value, whilst also strengthening critical infrastructure. This presentation will provide details of the NUAR project, the organisational collaboration model that underpins it and the spatial technology supporting it. It will provide a relevant guideline for similar Australian initiatives.

  • Positional Accuracy Improvement (PAI)– Ashish Manandhar In a PAI process, the aim is to improve the absolute positional accuracy of features without compromising the relative positional accuracy of vertices within a feature geometry (ie it’s shape) or the relationship between feature geometries and the reference data (i.e. it’s topology). We will demonstrate how PAI can be used to shift underground assets when migrating from previous Vicmap parcel base data to new parcel data from the Victoria Digital Cadastre Modernisation project.
  • Jemena CAD Clean-up process – Ashish Manandhar CAD drawings are usually created so that it is easy to visually read the Jemena electricity network data. This may not match the standard required for GIS ingestion. Hence to consume the data from CAD files into GIS, time consuming manual clean-up is often required. This presentation will demonstrate how FME scripts were used to automate the bulk of time-consuming manual clean-up steps. This allows the underground network data from CAD files to be imported into the GIS with minimal manual intervention.
  • Geospatial Data Validation Hub (GDV Hub) – Andrej Mocicka The Geospatial Data Validation Hub, GDV Hub is a “one-stop” self-service portal allowing developers, councils and utilities providers to submit and validate their GIS data against industry standards such as A-SPEC and, where appropriate, automatically apply logical corrections.  The presentation will demonstrate how the GDV Hub reads in GIS data, allowing clients to either validate or automatically correct their data and visualise the results as well as receive a comprehensive report.
  • Q & A Session During this session we will have a panel of certified professionals available to answer all your questions

This webinar is part of our free educational programme where we focus on one specific topic and dive deep under the covers to highlight a particular data challenge or solution. All of our historic webinars are published on our on-demand webinar page, just in case you missed a session, you can review it there… but if you join us on the live session you’ll have the opportunity to ask our expert presenter some questions around the topic.

In the meantime, if you have any technical questions, or you’d just like a quotation for one of our products, some training or a dedicated consultancy session from one of our Certified Professionals, just send us some details to Sales.australia@1spatial.com and we’ll be sure to get back to you.
