Building the GIS data essential for the implementation of the Next Generation 911 Core Services (NGCS) is a highly time-intensive and potentially expensive endeavor. It’s imperative to strategize the prioritization of data management, not only for geospatial call routing but also for its application in other emerging 911 technologies. Even in the absence of an impending Emergency Call Routing Function (ECRF) deployment, including additional measures beyond the requirements for those functional elements can aid in future deployments, simplify the procurement process, and advance the objective of achieving interoperability capabilities.
