The Road to Smarter Asset Information Assurance

Matthew joined 1Spatial in February 2018. Matthew is responsible for leading 1Spatial’s business development and engagement with public sector customers, including Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and the Geospatial Commission. Prior to joining 1Spatial, Matthew was a senior manager at Ordnance Survey Great Britain, responsible for engaging with public sector organisations and developing Ordnance Survey’s product strategy. Nicola is a geographer and management professional who has worked in non-destructive testing of civil engineering structures and management of environmental, safety and health risks in a heavy building materials company. Helping organisations to identify the information that matters has been the common thread. She now leads the engagement activities of the Government and Industry Interoperability Group.

Emma has 15 years of experience working in Flood and Coastal Risk Management. This includes operational roles in incident and asset management, and for the last 6 years Emma's specialised in managing asset Data and Information. In an increasingly digital and data-driven world, Emma's work ensures the Environment Agency has the data and information it needs and can trust, paving the foundations for digital ways of working.

Her core role includes defining and managing asset data standards, developing rules for data validation, and practical application of BIM standards and processes. In this presentation, Emma will share some of her experiences and the digital data journey the Environment Agency have been undertaking.
