Support Notice: FME Flow REST API Changes in FME 2026.1

As part of Safe Software’s ongoing platform evolution, an important change is coming that FME Flow administrators should be aware of, specifically if you’re planning an upgrade soon.

What’s Changing?

As you may be aware, in FME 2025 the FME Flow REST API V4 was released as a replacement for V3. The REST API V3 was still available for use in 2025  but with the release of FME Flow 2026.1, the REST API V3 will be fully deprecated [support.safe.com]

Safe Software has confirmed that:

  • V3 remains accessible in all builds 2025 but receives no new features or general bug fixes. 
  • V3 will be completely removed in 2026.1, meaning any workflows, integrations, or applications still relying on V3 endpoints will no longer function. 

This transition is part of the move to the newer, more secure, and more capable FME Flow REST API V4.

What You Need to Do

If you are not planning to upgrade at the moment, then you do not need to do anything but please do note that V3 will have limited support. If you are planning an upgrade now or in the near future to 2026.1 or later, you must ensure that:

  • Any integrations using REST API V3 are updated to V4
  • Automated systems, scripts, web hooks, connectors, and custom applications are reviewed and refactored as needed
  • Your team is aware of the upcoming removal to avoid downtime or service disruption

The main areas that you need to consider in your workflows are URLs and authentication.
