Peak of Data and AI 2025
Safe Software’s Peak of Data and AI 2025 (with a little exploration of Seattle)
Attending Safe Software’s Peak of Data and AI 2025 in Seattle this week has been an exhilarating experience. Over 600 data and AI innovators from 31 countries came together with anticipation and plenty of energy to explore the latest advancements from Safe Software. There was definitely a healthy level of intensity during the week which not only fostered curiosity and collaboration, but also resulted in some competitive, yet friendly, gaming during the social evening.
As a valued partner of Safe Software, 1Spatial's presence at this event was substantial with our largest ever contingent in attendance, demonstrating the strength of relationship between both companies. This will be continued next week in London when we host a meeting between one of our largest FME customers and Safe Software’s CEO, Don Murray. We are completely aligned with Don’s mantra of customer obsession and so the meeting as a triumvirate can only mean one thing – delivering greater success to the customer.
Seattle, often referred to as the Emerald City, provided a stunning backdrop for the event. The city's iconic landmarks, such as the Space Needle and Pike Place Market, offered us a chance to explore and unwind for a couple of days before the event started. Seattle's vibrant tech scene and its reputation as a hub for innovation made it the perfect location for a conference focused on the future of data and AI.
We’re still digesting the new announcements but the three that drew the greatest initial compliments (in our opinion) were: the AI assistant, Data Virtualization, and the new AR capability, FME Realize.
- AI Assistant
It comes as no surprise that a huge amount of focus has gone into the AI Assist tools, built directly into FME Form. With the updates announced this week, you can now ask the embedded AI assistant to describe and annotate your workspaces, or ask it for tips on how best to get started with a new problem. - Data Virtualisation
Data Virtualisation is a powerful new tool to create REST API’s, compliant with the Open API industry standard, that are built in FME Form and hosted on FME Flow. Need to allow an external application to interact with your data without exposing it directly? Build an API with all the usual GET, POST, DELETE and UPDATE endpoints, directly in FME without writing a single line of code. - FME Realize
With the growth of Spatial Computing, as recognised by Gartner as a 2025 Top Ten Strategic Technology trend, Safe Software launched a visually impressive Augmented Reality (AR) solution that connects field workers to an organization’s data ecosystem, including digital twins. From field workers, to utility workers and site engineers, FME Realize visualizes data such as 3D models of infrastructure assets (e.g. water pipes and electrical networks) so users can also update and modify data in real time based on their on-site assessments and invoke AI agents to provide analysis and deliver insights on demand.
1Spatial Break Out Sessions
1Spatial’s own technical specialists from our UK and Australian teams presented at the event. Ian Fletcher presented on self-service CAD reporting with FME Form & Flow for a major UK Police Force. Christian Fellinger spoke on managing the City of Cockburn’s Cloud Migration and Esri field operations with FME. Simon Laird shared the Hunter Water ArcGIS Utility Network migration story.
All of these sessions were well attended and appreciated by the attendees with plenty of questions such is the curiosity levels of the FME specialists at the event. These different presentations also demonstrate the diverse set of technical skills 1Spatial has across the company.
In conclusion, the Safe Software ‘Peak of Data and AI’ event in Seattle was a resounding success. It highlighted the critical role that data integration and AI play in driving innovation and efficiency across industries. The week highlighted again why FME is called the Swiss Army knife of Data Integration. For 1Spatial, being part of this event was not only a testament to its leadership in the geospatial data field but also a commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible with data and AI and our commitment to Safe Software and our role in driving growth for both Safe and 1Spatial.
