FME World Tour UK – 6th May: Extended Access GP Practices- how FME saved the day (NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit)

Have you ever found it frustrating to get to the GP? It can be hard to work out the system and getting an appointment can be frustrating. As a result, people often end up heading to A&E or a Walk-In Centre out of desperation.

Doing this is inefficient and expensive, so Extended Access GP Practices have been developed to make it easier for people to see a GP out of hours or at short notice.

However... Where are these practices? How do they relate to the changing landscape of Primary Care in England? And for most people is it now easier to get to an Extended Access GP or might they still head to A&E? These questions gave our team a number of knotty problems involving huge amounts of number crunching and data sets that turned out to be not as straightforward as we'd hoped.

This webinar is part of our free FME education programme where we focus on one specific topic and dive deep under the covers to highlight a particular data challenge or solution. All of our historic webinars are published on www.youtube.com/1spatialgroup just in case you missed a session, you can review it there… but if you join us on the live session you’ll have the opportunity to ask our expert presenter some questions around the topic.

In the meantime if you have any technical questions, or you’d just like a quotation for FME, some training or a dedicated consultancy session from one of our FME Certified Professionals, just send us some details to fme@1spatial.com and we’ll be sure to get back to you.
