1Spatial’s updated values are core to our success

1Spatial recently made the prestigious ‘Top 100 Companies in Cambridgeshire League 2021’, a list that looks at turnover, profitability and growth prospects. It’s fantastic to be recognised alongside other organisations with global significance.

We certainly worked on some major contracts in 2021, delivering our geospatial capabilities across government, utilities and transports to organisations including the Geospatial Commission,Environment Agency and DEFRA,Northern Gas Network,Rural Payments Agency, Ordnance Survey and many others. However, upon reflection, the huge contributing factors to our success are our people and culture. At 1Spatial, we are striving to make the world safer, smarter and more sustainable for the future - and our values support this ethos.

New values launched

We recently carried out internal workshops to revisit our values that we believed had become outdated and no longer accurately reflected the company ethos. It was evident there were 5 standout things that “make” us 1Spatial:

We Respect

We respect each other as individuals and treat everyone with equality. Our friendly and diverse culture is approachable and noticeable across our whole business and the outside world. We celebrate every individual and value our diversity.

We Innovate

We embrace change and push boundaries. We’re evolving and growing and not afraid to challenge the status quo and embrace the change around us. We push boundaries with our ideas and technology and always strive to succeed.

We collaborate

We are all working towards the same end goal and play as 1Team to achieve our objectives. Cross-team collaboration is so important. For example, sales feeds into product development and marketing to improve our products and messaging.

We place significant value on collaboration and create an open plan work environment to encourage this. We’re driven to work and have fun together across our different teams to achieve our goals and be at the forefront of our industry. Collaboration also goes beyond the 1Team as we work closely with our customer and partners to deliver the best value and support.

We Trust

We celebrate a culture of honesty and transparency. We trust one another and are provided autonomy within our working environment to complete tasks.

We encourage our team to learn, be proactive and try new things, and grow and trust they will always do right by their colleagues, our customers, and partners. As new people join the business, they bring great experience and new ideas. Freedom to progress and learn from mistakes is how we innovate and improve, but this can’t be achieved without trust and transparency.

We Care

We care about our team and customers, and are committed to making the world safer, smarter and more sustainable for the future.

We believe the answer to this is held in data. By unlocking its value, it can be used to make better decisions, save time and resource, and improve data that supports environmental, social and governance programmes.

Our products and services have a huge social impact, and we also support different initiatives such as carbon offsetting. Our Environmental Social Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility activities support our vision.
